MABUSHI FOOTBALL ACADEMY
As everyone, the boys of 'The Oaks' weren't able to do much during Covid-19. That's when Lucas Masete decided he wants to create a soccer team for his son and his friends. While nobody was allowed to do sports, the boys spent their free time cleaning up the village a little bit and really grew together as a team. Being part of the Mabushi Football Academy and spending time useful, the boys are encouraged to study and build their lives up properly.
Once it was allowed, they began to practice every day of the week for 3 hours and worked their way up in the LFA (Local Football Association), where in total 8 teams are competing. With hard work and strong wills they are now with six points ahead on the first place and the fourth leauge, the SAB (South African Brewery), is waiting for them.
To involve as many motivated boys from 'The Oaks' as possible, the team involves their younger siblings and neighbors. The starting line-up are boys between 17 and 21, while in training there are 27 boys from 7 years up, waiting to be one of the stars on the field one day. Until then they cheer on loudly from the rivet line with family and friends.
In order to continue to make this rewarding experience a reality for our youth, we are reaching directly to businesses, family and friends, everybody offering the opportunity to help by becoming a team sponsor!
Your contributions will be targeted exclusively to lessen the costs of the team, enabling all members to participate in team trading programs, local and region soccer tournaments and SAB.
